As the demand for energy efficiency grows XERO is launching a range of high quality, economical and eco-friendly electric scooters for today's urban lifestyle. The launch of the vehicles follows the government's recent £250m plan to promote low carbon transport - including £20m being invested in electricity charge points across the UK.
XERO's new fleet of designer scooters provide an affordable yet green solution to inner city transportation, as not only do electric vehicles significantly reduce CO2 emissions but also do not produce urban air or noise pollution. Exempt from road tax, congestion charges and parking charges (throughout most of cities), the XERO fleet of bikes are as hassle free as they are economical.
The scooters, which come in three high style designs and seven various colourways, are simple to use and cost effective to run. Running 50 miles with a speed of 30mph on the XERO eScooter, the electricity charges for XERO bikes equate to as little as 1p per mile.
For ease of use, bikes are not only charged with a normal mains adapter in the home but also at the multitude of electric charge points throughout cities, including car parks and petrol stations (with the government committing to invest £20m in new charge points across the UK). With a full charge being 6-8 hours, and top ups from 30 minutes, charging an electric scooter is now as easy as charging your phone.
The XERO eScooter Hybrid model is self-charging, using both the engine and electric motor from 5-18mph, and then recharging the battery on speeds over 18mph. This gives the benefits of a lower emission vehicle, with the advantages of a longer-range motorcycle.
